Sauce Piquante

Exploring the exciting and hot sounds of America – and beyond!

The name “Sauce Piquante” is a nod to the spicy Louisiana dish that blends many influences—African, French, Spanish, and Caribbean. Through this lens, Arthur explores the music he loves: Blues, Jazz, Gospel, R&B, Creole, and Zydeco, as well as Afrobeat and Latin music, tracing how all of it has shaped the most exciting sounds of yesterday and today.

About Arthur Chanoine-Degruelle

Arthur is based in Brooklyn and originally from Paris, France. He moved to New York a year and a half ago, carrying a lifelong passion for music. Drawn from an early age to the blues and its many branches—soul, gospel, jazz, R&B, country, and funk—he is dedicated to exploring, documenting, and sharing this music with others. He also has experience behind the scenes, touring with bands as a stage manager and collaborating on jazz festivals in France, and is beginning to explore similar work in New York. In 2025, he began hosting Sauce Piquante on Radio Free Brooklyn.
