Radio Free Brooklyn and Pet Sounds Music Festival announce local media partnership for Vol. III event in Bushwick

Radio Free Brooklyn is proud to partner with Pet Sounds Music Festival for Vol. 3 of its event on Friday, Sept. 18, and Saturday, Sept. 19, at Rubulad, 389 Melrose Ave., in Brooklyn.

The festival will feature two nights of music, with seven bands each night and an open DJ space both nights. Tickets are available on Eventbrite: $12 for one night and $20 for two nights. Doors open at 6 p.m. both nights.

Jake Murray of Diner Pets leads the festival, co-organized with DJ Janky. Radio Free Brooklyn will amplify the festival with promotional and editorial content on its website, on the air and via its mobile app.

“Radio Free Brooklyn’s dedication to local music, local art and building community makes it a perfect partner for Pet Sounds Music Festival,” Murray said. “We’re thrilled to unite and celebrate an amazing group of musical artists and creatives right here in Brooklyn.”

The festival has grown since its last iteration, expanding from the Pet Sounds Banquet to add a night, drag shows, new vendors and duels by the NYC Gladiators. Local drag performers Zalika and Zima Sparkles will hit the stage on Sept. 19, and the NYC Gladiators will hold a dueling exhibition on Sept. 18.

“We can’t think of a better opportunity to celebrate and showcase independent music here in Brooklyn than collaborating with Pet Sounds Music Festival,” said Orie Givens, president of the RFB board of directors and project lead for the partnership. “Through our partnership, we’ll be able to highlight a slate of amazing bands and bring more visibility to a great event.”
